This meet usually takes place on the last Sunday in October. It takes place in the centre of the village, in the field adjoining Croft House Café.
The Meet is a simple Shepherd’s Meet, where herdwick sheep from the adjoining parishes only are shown. There are competitions for working shepherd’s dogs from any area and fell races.
Entry is free. Visitors are welcome to come and enjoy a traditional Lakeland event harking back to the days when sheep, which had strayed off their heaf on the common, were walked to a central point and reclaimed by their owners.
